With many fall sports coming to an end I’ve got to shoot a nice selection over the past few weeks.

My little cousin Joey has turned into quite the XC ripper over the past few years and with the temps finally dropping we headed out to shoot a few photos at our local trail.

Really enjoyed shooting this game. A lot of good action on and off the field.

Front page…year later

Pretty funny I was browsing around on Facebook and came across this shot of the June 2010 Arizona Republic front page and thought the second photo down looked familiar. It was a shot from the 1070 protest while I was interning with the paper my senior year of school. This was the second time I made the cover both of which dealt with immigration.

It’s been almost a year since I have posted here. Got a chance to shoot some football for the paper on Friday and I really missed being out there.

Meth Recovery Pt. 2

leave a comment »

Well I was not able to post one per week so here are three to make up for that.  The guys at the house really only had a few options when it came to entertainment and if the TV was taken away for several reasons, then it made it even worse.  The three activities basically everyone in the house did was play some type of sport in the street, sit up front of the house 24/7 and smoke cigarettes.  Never in my life have I seen so many cigarettes smoke in so little time.  I guess when you’re coming off such drugs, they really help.

Meth Recovery

with one comment

Earlier in the year I started a personal project about a 17-year old recovering meth addict.  I spent a couple months with him at the half-way house and pretty much wherever else he went.  It was an amazing opportunity and I learned so much about working on a long term project like this and a lot about myself as a photographer and person.  I’m going to try and post a photo or two every week from the time I spent with him along with a brief blurb about the photo.

This is the first photo I ever shot with him on the first day I brought my camera to the house.  This was his fourth or fifth day into the program and everyone is given a small bible to read along with the rules of the house and such.

Levi Sherwood in a lot of peoples minds is the next big thing. It’s always fun to be able to shoot with him and witness his crazy extensions.
